TeleBermuda selects Sonus for IMS-ready NGN

21 Jun 2006

Telecoms operator TeleBermuda has selected VoIP infrastructure solutions provider Sonus Networks to provide it with an IMS-ready solution for its next generation voice network. The deal includes the delivery of Sonus’GSX4000 Open Services Switch which supports wholesale voice services, converged voice and data solutions and international long-distance services to residential and business users across the island. TeleBermuda migrated from its legacy network to Sonus’ NGN platform in April 2006.

In a separate story, Bermudan cable operator Bermuda CableVision has inked a deal with JacobsRimell, a provider of customer-centric IP service fulfilment solutions, for delivery of the latter’s APS QuickStart solution. CableVision will use the APS QuickStart platform to launch its High Speed Data (HSD) service, enabling it to introduce new services by evolving rather than replacing its existing infrastructure.
