Ericsson wins EUR75 million deal from Telekom Srbija

Ericsson has secured a EUR75 million deal from Telekom Srbija for the expansion and upgrade of its GSM/GPRS/EDGE network. Under the terms of the agreement Ericsson will supply its mobile softswitch and radio access network equipment and software as well as a suite of services. Deliveries will start next month. Telekom Srbija offers wireless services under the banner Mobile Telephony of Serbia (MTS). At the end of 2005 it claimed in the region to three million subscribers, up from 2.3 million a year earlier. Telekom Srbija is 80% state-owned, with the remainder in the hands of Greek telco OTE.
