UTL launches DSL service

Ugandan fixed line incumbent Uganda Telecom (UTL) has announced the launch of an ADSL service offering speeds of between 64kbps and 256kbps. UTL is reported to have invested USD1 million in the upgrade; coverage is currently limited to 25 towns, although a further 16 are slated for roll out in the near future. Prices for the service start at USD90 per month rising to USD300 for the fastest service.
