Digiweb profits double on broadband growth

20 Apr 2006

Irish internet service provider Digiweb posted gross profits of EUR2.7 million in 2005, double the figure reported the previous year. Revenues climbed from EUR2 million to EUR5.6 million driven by a rapid uptake in broadband subscriptions, particularly for its Metro product. Digiweb plans to expand Metro’s coverage to a further 20 locations in Ireland in 2006, as well as expanding to a number of locations elsewhere in Europe. It also hopes to enter the mobile data arena later in the year.
