TeliaSonera to provide broadband to 53 rural villages

TeliaSonera Finland has teamed up with local authority body Pohjoisen Keski-Suomen Verkkopalvelut (Network Services of Northern Central Finland) to provide broadband connections in the rural villages of the eight municipalities of Northern Central Finland. Under the agreement, the partners will enable broadband connections to a total of 53 villages. The project is being part-funded by the European Union and the municipalities in the area, and is part of TeliaSonera’s Village Broadband plan. The connections will be installed by the end of the year.
