Ukraine’s CDMA WiLL subscribers up to 135,000

Ukraine’s CDMA WiLL telephony operators signed up a total of 135,000 subscribers by the end of March, up from 116,000 at the end of 2005, reports Cellular News quoting the Association of CDMA Operators of Ukraine. Market leader Velton Telecom had 65,000 CDMA users in 14 cities at end-March, whilst second-placed International Telecommunication Company (ITC, or CDMA Ukraine) claimed 33,000 subscribers in ten cities. Odessa-based Intertelecom’s WiLL subscriber base stood at 27,000 while CST-Invest reported 10,000 customers in two cities. A fifth CDMA-800 operator, Ukrainian Telesystems, did not report its WiLL subscriber figures. The Association expects the country’s CDMA-800 users to reach 200,000 by the end of 2006.
