Essent, Teleste sign letter of intent for EttH deployment

24 Mar 2006

Dutch cable operator Essent Kabelcom and Finnish broadband data communications systems group Teleste have signed a letter of intent for the deployment of a next-generation residential data access solution based on 100Mbps Ethernet-to-the-Home (EttH) technology. The solution will allow customers to use their existing cable connection to gain access to the internet with a symmetrical connection speed of 100Mbps. Teleste successfully completed a trial of EttH for Essent in the Boxmeer region of the country and will roll out the technology on the cableco’s networks in 2006 and beyond.
