Bell and TELUS introduce faster mobile data to Quebec

3 Mar 2006

Rival mobile operators Bell Mobility and TELUS have this week announced the launch of their respective CDMA2000 1xEV-DO mobile networks in downtown Quebec City, delivering data download speeds of up to 2.4Mbps. Bell also provides 3G services to users in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, while TELUS launched its 3G network in the same five cities in mid-November 2005, and plans to extend EV-DO coverage to other urban centres in 2006. Bell says its EV-DO rollout in Quebec City will continue in the third quarter of this year.
