KPN selects Ericsson as sole supplier for 3G/HSDPA

Ericsson and KPN have signed a memorandum of understanding for the rollout of a mobile broadband network based on High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology for KPN and Telfort in the Netherlands. Ericsson will also be the sole supplier for the 3G radio access of these networks. KPN Mobile’s chief operating officer Marco Visser said the tie-up with the Swedish firm would enable it to launch HSDPA before the end of 2006.
