Revenues up at NII

NII Holdings has reported a 1.9% drop in fourth quarter profit, although operating revenues rose sharply. The US-based firm, which provides wireless services to business users in Latin America, saw profit fall from USD56.7 million in the last three months of 2004 to USD55.6 million in the final quarter of 2005. Fourth-quarter sales jumped from USD362.9 million in 2004 to USD512.6 million last year. The firm had over 2.5 million customers in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Peru at the end of December, an increase of 627,600 over the end-2004 figure.
