Teleglobe, Tornado to push PoC services

17 Feb 2006

Bermuda-based Teleglobe is teaming up with Mobile Tornado to market the latter’s push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) solution to wireless operators worldwide. Teleglobe, which was acquired by VSNL of India earlier this month, sees PoC as a potentially lucrative value added service and views Mobile Tornado’s ‘Push to Xperience’ branded product as a means of giving companies a stronger position in emerging markets. A spokesman for VSNL said: ‘PoC as a hosted managed service will enable mobile operators to launch PoC services more rapidly, with lower investment, and at lower risk than the alternative of acquiring, integrating, and operating PoC internally’.
