GrameenPhone and Ericsson agree USD150 million expansion deal

Bangladeshi mobile market leader GrameenPhone has awarded a two-year contract worth USD150 million to Ericsson to expand and upgrade its GSM/EDGE network. The Swedish vendor will supply core and radio network equipment in addition to a range of other services to improve network quality, performance and coverage. The contract includes the provision of Ericsson’s Mobile Softwitch Solution and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).
