Ghana’s President makes pledge to deal with poor mobile services

President J A Kufuor of Ghana has said he is concerned about the poor quality of service provided by the country’s mobile operators and has pledged to use the muscle of the regulator, the National Communication Authority (NCA) to bring about change. While the government is happy to report increasing growth within the mobile phone sector, concerns exist about service quality and President Kufuor is determined to address this given ICT’s perceived status within the ranks of government as a ‘tool for national development and as an economic product.’
