Regulator calls for crackdown on naughty midnight callers

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has written to the country’s five mobile network operators telling them to cancel promotions offering subscribers free calls after midnight. The offer was also allegedly seriously affecting school pupils’ studies and promoting ‘immoral relationships’ between boys and girls, the BTRC added. The directive was prompted by scores of complaints from concerned parents.
