DNA ends 2005 with 810,000 users

11 Jan 2006

Finnish mobile operator DNA Finland says it added 50,000 new subscribers in the final quarter of 2005 to end the year with 810,000 mobile users; it aims to break the one million subscriber mark by the end of 2006. The cellco says that competition has lowered margins across the board, though its ARPU remained steady in the period at EUR35.6. DNA’s ARPU is amongst the highest in the Finnish market due to the bulk of its users being on post-paid calling plans. The cellco launched 3G services in metropolitan Helsinki, Tampere and Lahti last month and announced plans to extend coverage to all major cities during the course of 2006. It joins TeliaSonera and Elisa in launching 3G operations in the country.
