Bite expects penetration to reach 155% by end-2006

9 Jan 2006

Lithuanian mobile operator Bite GSM has forecast that wireless penetration will reach 155% by the end of 2006, predicting that the market shares of all operators will level out and the main competitive criteria will be focused around the range and quality of services rather than the price. Wireless penetration stood at 120% at the end of September 2005, when there was a total of around 4.13 million subscribers. At the same date Bite claimed 29.72% of the market, Tele2 had 27.09% and market leader Omnitel claimed 43.12%.
