Saunalahti and Sonera settle MVNO dispute

3 Jan 2006

Finnish mobile reseller Saunalahti Group says it has reached an agreement with Sonera Mobile Networks to resolve their dispute relating to the termination of their mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement. As a result of the agreement Saunalahti will cancel its action against Sonera in the court of arbitration and record USD1.7 million in non-recurring income for the fourth quarter of 2005. Saunalahti was taken over by Finnish incumbent Elisa Communications in December 2005 and will now utilise its new parent’s mobile network. Elisa added Saunalahti’s 500,000 customers to its own cellular subscriber base.
