Ireland’s mobile penetration reached the 100% mark in September, according to the latest Key Data Report from ComReg. The regulator says that there were 4.1 million mobile subscribers in the country at the end of September 2005. 49.7% of the total took services with Vodafone Ireland, 38.8% were O2 Ireland customers and 11.5% were signed up with Meteor Mobile; the figures do not include Hutchison 3G Ireland, which launched in July. ComReg also reported that there were 208,500 broadband subscribers in Ireland at the end of September, up 19% in three months and 230% year-on-year.
