UK set to have unbundled a million lines next year

12 Dec 2005

UK incumbent BT Group is on target to have unbundled a million local loop lines during 2006, according to government body overseeing the process. The Office of the Telecommunications Adjudicator (OTA) says that there are now 163,000 unbundled lines in the UK with more being added at a rate of 5,000 a week. The OTA admits that operational problems have slowed progress, but maintains that the service is being improved all the time and confidently predicts that bulk migration of lines will begin ‘soon’.
