NCA to licence new fixed line operators next year

7 Dec 2005

Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) says it will licence an unspecified number of new fixed line operators next year to provide competition to the de facto duopoly of Ghana Telecom and Western Telesystems. The NCA says there are currently just 443,000 fixed line subscribers in the country, compared to more than 2.65 million mobile users.
