Vodafone Portugal signs up 330,000 3G users

6 Dec 2005

Vodafone Portugal says it has signed up 330,000 Portuguese 3G users since launching its new network in February 2004. Strong demand for advanced mobile services has helped push the cellco’s customer base through the four million barrier, and now accounts for 8% of its total subscriber base. Overall, Vodafone Portugal increased the number of users signed up to its services by 12% in the twelve months to end-September, outstripping the market average which only grew by 8%. The gains have helped the company increase its overall market share by 2.7% to 34.3%, while its share of the 3G segment is estimated to be 50%.
