Lost property finds answer

17 Nov 2005

A Finnish company has launched a service which uses mobile networks to help locate lost property. Under the service, which is called ReturnMe, items are fitted with an ID tag. Someone finding a lost item sends a text message to the number on the tag and the owner is then given their mobile number so that they can arrange to pick up the item. Because the owner’s address is not given out the ReturnMe tags can be fitted safely to items such as house keys.
