FibraLink ready to install cable network

17 Nov 2005

According to a report in the Jamaica Observer, international connectivity provider FibraLink Jamaica has announced plans to start work on the installation of its undersea fibre optic cable which will connect Jamaica to the US. FibraLink won its concession to build and operate the system in January this year, under which it was required to have completed installation within ten months. The company applied for an extension, however, and now expects to launch in early 2006. Trans Caribbean Cable Company won a similar licence, but has until December 2006 to install the cable.
