Cablenet TO THE MAX

17 Nov 2005

Bulgarian cable TV operator Cablenet yesterday announced a plan to roll out nationwide WiMAX services under the brand name Max Telecom. It has launched a tender for the first phase of a next-generation network with a full suite of billing, customer service and value added platforms, and says it will target fixed line telephony and internet customers by undercutting existing operators’ access fees and line rental charges. Cablenet was awarded a ‘Class A’ point-to-multipoint wireless access licence by the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) last month, alongside domestic telco Transtelecom.
