According to South Korea’s Minister of Information and Communication, Chin Daeje, the country will see between eight and nine million customers signed up to its high-speed wireless internet service, WiBro, by 2007. KT Corp launched the country’s first trial WiBro service in Monday, with the technology expected to be rolled out commercially in the first half of 2006.
