Mobile subscribers reach 18 million

According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the total number of mobile subscribers in the country crossed the 18 million mark in October, ahead of analyst forecasts of around 16 million. There were 18.4 million mobile users in Pakistan at the end of October, up 18.5% on the previous month, and translating to a mobile teledensity of 11.96%, up from 10.98%. Mobilink was the largest operator while Ufone was in second place. Other cellcos operating in the market are Paktel and Pakcom and newcomers Telenor and Warid Telecom.
