Eurotel wins military deal

9 Nov 2005

Czech mobile operator Eurotel has been awarded a CZK380 million (USD15.3 million) contract to supply cellular services to the country’s Defence Ministry. Eurotel beat off a bid from rival operator T-Mobile for the deal which runs until 2008, with a possible three-year extension. Eurotel has been serving the Czech military for the past seven years, charging around CZK8 million a month for mobile services. Under the new deal it will drop its charge to around CZK3.5 million; T-Mobile is thought to have entered a proposal which was roughly equivalent to Eurotel’s current charge.
