Sales up at Versatel

Dutch telco Versatel has seen third quarter revenues jump 31% year-on-year to EUR197 million, while EBITDA increased from EUR30 million to EUR39 million. The company had 179,000 DSL subscribers in the Netherlands, including 15,000 ADSL2+ customers, at the end of September. In Germany, it serves 211,000 ADSL users, while it added 2,000 DSL customers in Belgium in the third quarter to take its broadband subscriber base there to 53,000. Versatel has recently been acquired by the Swedish group Tele2, with the German operations sold on immediately to Apax Partners.
