TDC mulls possible DNA purchase

25 Oct 2005

Denmark’s largest telecoms service provider TDC is interested in purchasing Finnish mobile operator DNA Finland, although it says it is not prepared to over-pay for the unit. According to eFinland, TDC’s managing director Henning Dyremose believes the Finnish mobile market is too small to support four operators, and says there should be three players to protect the interest of consumers and stimulate healthy competition. Alternatively TDC could enter the market by way of an MVNO agreement. The Danish firm has already secured a bridgehead in Finland through its acquisition of Song Networks in January 2005 and has made a significant impact in the corporate networks segment.
