Two win Class A licences

Transtelecom and cable TV operator Cablenet have won ‘Class A’ point-to-multipoint telecommunications licences from the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC). Each company will pay BUL5 million for the ten-year concessions. The winners secured the licences ahead of wireless operator MobilTel, incumbent BTC, Nexcom Bulgaria and Carrier BG. Three lower capacity ‘Class B’ point-to-multipoint licences will be auctioned on 26 October, with starting bids set for BUL672,000.
