DSL subs up at Cesky Telecom

Telefónica’s Czech subsidiary Cesky Telecom added 20,000 new broadband internet subscribers in September, taking its total ADSL customer base to 220,000. That is up from 100,000 a year ago. Telefónica of Spain has a 69.4% interest in Cesky Telecom; it paid EUR2.7 billion for the government’s 51.1% stake in April and has since bought an additional 18.3% from minority shareholders.
