Ericsson to expand V-Mobile GSM network

Nigerian cellco Vee Networks, which offers GSM services under the V-Mobile banner, has contracted Ericsson for the expansion of its infrastructure in a deal valued at more than USD200 million. Ericsson will supply and deliver a series of core network expansions, a new charging system, base station system expansions and turnkey implementation services. The deal is part of Vee Networks USD2 billion two-year expansion plan, which will see it expand its network capacity to ten million subscribers.
