Vodafone Netherlands has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ericsson’s Dutch subsidiary to outsource parts of its network operations. The arrangement includes plans to hand over responsibility for the rollout, operation and maintenance of the cellco’s radio network to Ericsson. Vodafone Netherlands will retain full control over its infrastructure, licences and contracts with landlords. A formal contract is expected to follow in the coming months and will see some 170 Vodafone employees transferred to Ericsson. The vendor’s Dutch unit is opening a new office in South Limburg to administer the contract.
