Siemens wins deal to upgrade CRa’s broadband network

Czech telecom and transmission company Ceske radiokomunikace (CRa), has awarded Siemens a contract to upgrade its broadband communications network, ahead of a rival bid from Cisco Systems. The new technology, which will allow CRa to offer so-called triple play data, voice and video services over a single network, will be gradually expanded to provide coverage in all regional capitals and, ultimately, in all other areas where there is high demand for data services.
