TeliaSonera hangs up on public phones

TeliaSonera Finland has said it is giving up on the provision of public telephone services and will remove the final 2,000 booths it has in operation in 260 localities by the end of April 2006. The company said that sales from public telephones have been in decline since the mid-1990s and stood at just EUR1.3 million in 2004.
