Telefonica Moviles launches 3G

Telefonica Moviles (TEM) has rolled out 3G services in Guatemala over its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network supplied by Nortel. TEM contracted Nortel as the sole supplier of its 3G network in May 2005. The launch brings the first 3G services to Guatemala, and will enable users to download data on their mobile phones at speeds of up to 2.4Mbps.
