Mobile TV proves a hit

31 Aug 2005

A pilot of mobile TV services in Finland has found that 41% of those who took part would be willing to pay to continue receiving the service, with a fixed monthly fee of around EUR10 thought reasonable by half of the participants. 58% said that they believed mobile TV services would be popular. The trial included content from channels such as MTV and Channel Four Finland, and was backed by the mobile operators Elisa and TeliaSonera and the handset manufacturer Nokia. According to Telecompaper, triallists spent an average of 20 minutes a day watching mobile TV content with entertainment, sports and news content proving the most popular.
