eircom income dips under pressure from competitors

26 Aug 2005

Ireland’s dominant fixed line operator eircom has reported a 3.25% fall in EBITDA in its fiscal first quarter to EUR149 million, due to increasing competition which forced it to cut prices during the period. eircom ended June with 141,000 broadband subscribers, up from 54,000 in the corresponding period of last year.
