MTN rolls out country’s first GPRS service

MTN Uganda last week launched GPRS services over its GSM-900/1800 mobile network. The long-awaited data platform, dubbed YelloLive, is the first of its kind in Uganda, and offers WAP site surfing, e-mail, e-commerce applications, and video and photo message distribution. MTN’s new picture messaging service – YelloPix – was launched in conjunction with YelloLive.
