CAT listing put on hold – again

9 Aug 2005

The planned stock market listing of CAT Telecom on the Thai bourse has been put back once again to mid-2006 at the earliest, from the first quarter of next year. The telco’s listing was first mooted in 2000, but deadlines to list the former Communications Authority of Thailand have come and gone since then. The country’s new IT and Communications Minister Sora-at Klinprathum admitted that CAT’s listing could even be delayed until the third quarter of 2006 as the government strives to untangle some as yet unresolved issues. One such problem is the selection of a new president following the resignation of Withit Sajjapong.
