KPN still keen on Nozema buy

5 Aug 2005

Dutch telco KPN says it is considering offloading its existing broadcasting antenna operations in order to clear the way for its proposed purchase of state broadcast network firm Nozema. On Thursday the Dutch competition regulator NMa expressed concerns that the deal could lead to KPN becoming too powerful in the TV antenna sector, but KPN is hoping its planned sell-off will allay these fears. KPN spokesperson Bram Oudshoorn told Dow Jones: “We want to start offering television services as soon as possible, and are looking at all options and excluding none.”
