Swisscom Fixnet deploys SDSL technology

3 Aug 2005

The wholesale ISP arm of telco Swisscom Fixnet has launched symmetric digital subscriber line (SDSL) internet access services for domestic business users. Swisscom’s SDSL service, available via ISP resellers, provides high speed data transfer rates in both directions. Data can be sent upstream at the same rate as it is received (downstream), offering an upstream bandwidth up to four times greater than ADSL. Use of the technology can increase the performance of virtual private networks (VPNs).
