Positive results at Versatel

3 Aug 2005

Dutch telco Versatel has seen a 33% year-on-year jump in second-quarter revenues to EUR191 million, while EBITDA leapt 43% to EUR40 million. Sales were spurred by a positive performance at Versatel’s German unit, which saw revenues increase 55% to EUR98 million, due mainly to the recent acquisition of Berlikom. DSL subscriber numbers reached 172,000 in the Netherlands, 177,000 in Germany and 52,000 in Belgium. Versatel’s CEO, Raj Raithatha, commented: “Given the significant resources that Versatel is devoting to the rollout of triple play services in the Netherlands, I am pleased that we were able to continue to grow our revenues in all of our markets.”
