Morocco getting set to launch 3G tenders

13 Jul 2005

Moroccan regulator ANRT said yesterday that it will launch tenders for two 3G mobile licences before the end of 2005. Incumbent operator Maroc Télécom and cellco Médi Télécom are both expected to place bids for the USD40 million concessions. The country is also expected to license a third fixed line operator soon, after Médi Télécom beat Maroc Connect to the second national operating concession earlier this week.
