Jamaican mobile group Digicel has said that it plans to buy Cingular Wireless’ Caribbean operations in a bid to increase its presence in the region. The value of the deal has not been revealed. Digicel has already invested over USD600 million in the Caribbean, and operates in Aruba, Barbados, Curacao, The Cayman Islands, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Lucia and St. Vincent/the Grenadines. The agreement with Cingular will expand its network to Bermuda, Anguilla, St Kitts/Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda.
