SingTel looks for other acquisitions after failed PTCL bid

21 Jun 2005

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) plans to seek out potential acquisitions in the Asia Pacific region, after it failed to win a 26% stake in Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) on Saturday. The company has already expressed an interest in buying shares in TOT and has said it is considering becoming a strategic partner. The move will require consultation with Bankok’s finance ministry, TOT’s main shareholder, before it can go ahead.
