Cisco to speed up TOT’s Bangkok network

Thailand’s state owned fixed line incumbent TOT Corp has contracted Cisco Systems to upgrade its core network in the Bangkok metropolitan area with the vendor’s new optical networking solution. The upgrade, based on Cisco’s ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP), will increase network capacity from 1Gbps to 320Gbps and be used to support residential broadband services. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
