26 May 2005

Total Access Communications (DTAC) has announced plans to invest THB8.5 billion (USD212.5 million) this year on expanding and upgrading its network. Nokia will provide DTAC with more 1,000 base stations to expand its network nationwide and improve call quality to meet increasing customer demand. DTAC was founded in August 1989 and awarded a 15-year BTO contract with CAT the following November, which has since been extended to 27 years. It is currently Thailand’s second largest cellco by subscribers, behind Advanced Info Services.
