17 May 2005

TeliaSonera says it will book a one-off EUR30 million charge in its fiscal second quarter relating to its Finnish division which recently concluded deals with Elisa Matkapuhelinpalvelut and Finnet Networks over mobile telephony interconnection fees. Under the deal TeliaSonera Finland will pay Elisa EUR30 million and Finnet EUR12.5 million in compensation, and grant Finnet EUR5 million worth of mobile billing – free of charge. TeliaSonera had previously allocated just EUR17.5 million for backdated compensation payments.
