NITEL launches SAT-3 enabled IP wholesale service

22 Apr 2005

Fixed line incumbent Nigerian Telecommunications (NITEL) has launched a new IP wholesale service utilising the SAT-3 submarine cable system. The service offers unlimited bandwidth IP connectivity to businesses in the country for the first time and the telco is urging companies to make the most of the possibilities afforded by the new link, pushing for the development of value added services such as video-on-demand and e-business solutions. NITEL’s chief Dr Albert Mashi yesterday promised the service ‘would change the face of internet services in the country’.
